Abstract

This study is devoted to the study of morphological changes in the facet joints of the lumbar spine in women of different ages. The morphology of the upper and lower surfaces of the facet joints of the lumbar spine, the shape of the joint socket, and the intervertebral distance were analyzed depending on age. As women age, bilateral asymmetry in the facet joints increases, the biomechanics of the spinal column deteriorates, the width of the joint socket decreases, and the tendency to compression of the spinal cord roots increases. According to the results of the study, it was proven that regular intake of vitamin D and physical activity helps to stabilize changes in bone structure and reduce the risk of diseases.
