Abstract

Experimental morhpological study was performed in order to evaluate the efficiency of technical modifications. As a result new method of alloplasty for inguinal herias was discovered. The method of alloplasty of inguinal hernia, known as the Lichtenstein operation, has been modified by forming a cuff around the spermatic cord at the site of the hole in the mesh, which protects it from the scar overgrowth and subsequent deformation. A modified method of alloplasty of inguinal hernias can significantly eliminate swelling and scarring at the site of contact of the spermatic cord with the hole in the polypropylene mesh.
