A CROSS-CULTURAL LINGUISTIC TAPESTRY: ACQUIRED AND BORROWED LEXEMES OF CLOTHES IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LITERARY WORKS

Abstract

The language serves as a vibrant reflection of cultural diversity and linguistic evolution. The article will discuss the historical, social and literary factors that shaped the lexicon of clothing in both English and Uzbek literature. Comparing these two linguistic traditions promises to provide a deeper understanding of how clothing lexemes serve as threads linking different cultures and literary expressions. As well as, the current article analyzes the etymology and background of the names of clothes in both English and Uzbek languages. Every language can be enriched through social, cultural or economic relationships and certainly under the influence of various conquests. The current research was supported with the main roots, borrowed words and words were derived from another foreign languages into English and Uzbek languages.
