Ushbu maqola, ayniqsa, arxitektura sohasidagi terminlar va terminologiyani o'rganishga qaratilgan. Haqiqatan ham, xorijiy va o'zbek olimlari "termin" tushunchasiga juda ko'p qarashlar bildirmoqdalar, garchi u hali to'liq ta'rifga ega bo'lmasa ham. Olimlar o'rtasida ilmiy muloqot jarayonida yuzaga kelishi mumkin bo'lgan eng muhim muammolardan biri, ular qaysi tilda gapirishayotgani, nima uchun bu so'zlarni boshqalar emas, aynan o’zlari aniq tanlashlarini bilish muhimdir. Terminlar faqat erkin tanlangan emas, balki nutqda erkin ifodalangan birliklar bo'lishi darkor. Shuning uchun terminlar va terminlarning ta'rifi yanada chuqurroq o'rganishni talab qiladi.
