Мақолада инглиз тилида гапнинг экспрессив турлари бўлмиш ҳис-хаяжон гапларнинг синтактик ва прагматик жиҳатлари устида олиб борилган изланишлар муҳокамасига бағишланган. Ҳис-хаяжон гапларнинг грамматик таҳлили ҳаволаси асносида уларга нисбатан прагматик ёндашувнинг аҳамияти очиб берилган. Мазкур қурилмаларнинг таснифи ҳамда уларни ифодалашда қўлланилувчи турли атамалар ўртасидаги фарқлар очиб берилган. Дискурснинг турли кўринишларидан олинган мисоллар таҳлили асосида хулосага келиндики, ҳис-хаяжон гапларда иллокутив акт контекстга муваққат боғлиқдир. Экспрессив ҳис-хаяжон гапларнинг Нутқий актлар назарияси нуқтаи назаридан прагматик таҳлили яна ҳам ривожлантирилиши даркор, чунки улар мазкур назариянинг барча жиҳатларини қамраб олган.
