Abstract

The main goal of the study was to outline ways of teaching phrasal verbs for English learners. Phrasal verbs are word-groups that cannot be made in the process of speech; they exist in the language as ready-made units. To understand foreign language means not only know basic vocabulary but also the language in all its diversity (phrasal verbs, phraseological units, dialects, idioms, phrasal verbs etc.). Every learner must be prepared to meet the challenge simply because phrasal verbs occur so frequently in the spoken and written English.
