Abstract

This scholarly article aims to investigate the presentation of the “tolerance” concept within media communication. It delves into discourse as an outcome of the interplay between textual arrangements and non-linguistic elements. The article examines media discourse as a sophisticated structural and semantic construct—a system of value orientations with specific functional perspectives. Central to this discourse are conceptual systems, wherein the “tolerance” concept holds significant axiological weight within media spaces. Introducing this concept across diverse cultural media discourses induces partial alterations in its semantic essence and framework. This study dissects the semantics of “tolerance” in Russian and English, elucidating its contextual reflections within media communication. Employing contextual and linguistic-hermeneutical analyses, the article furnishes materials valuable for exploring the conceptual domain of mass media discourse.
