One of the most urgent social issues of the 21st century is the preservation of natural languages. Natural language processing is one of the main directions of computer linguistics. Consistently conducting research on NLP and language technologies in the creation and development of electronic corpora of world languages has become an urgent issue. This article provides information about the first stage of our research on the creation of an electronic corpus of the Karakalpak language. After giving brief information about the Karakalpak language and its morphology, the article presents the linguistic basics of creating a corpus that is considered a search tool.
