At the present stage, much attention is paid to the study of the phraseology of languages. As a result of such a study, phraseology was formed as a separate section of linguistics. This situation requires a deeper scientific study of phraseology. The article is devoted to learn cultural peculiarities o f the Uzbek and English phraseological units in novels and oral speech, their etymological resources are also shown by given examples o f such these phraseological units. It is expressed the prevalence of them and how they are applied in the literature simultaneously. In the article it was alsoclaimed to which resources they are related.This article presents the issues of classification of phraseological units according to their national and cultural characteristics, problems of their translation in dictionaries. Having a sufficient understanding of them contributes to a clear understanding of the essence of this activity. Therefore, in this work summarizes important translation problems.
