THE MAXIM OF POLITENESS IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH LANGUAGES

The article analyzes the etymological, semantic and pragmatic similarities and differences of the maxim of politeness in English and Uzbek, and pays special attention to the known semantic data of words of this category. Based on the theory of courtesy of Penelope Brown and Stephen Levinson, the founders of the theory of politeness, the semantic features of horses in English and Uzbek languages are analyzed and new aspects are revealed.
