REFLECTION OF ORIENTALISM IN THE TEXTS OF I.A.BUNIN AS A KIND OF PERCEPTION OF THE EAST

Abstract

This article examines the peculiar attitude of I. A. Bunin to Orientalism, his contribution to the development of this topic, and an attempt at a philosophical analysis of his poems dedicated to the East. The essence of his “Arabic” poems is revealed as a spatial proximity to the East, which dialectically naturally turns into a strong temporal connection with the poet and the East. Among the representatives of Russian culture, whose interest in the East and interaction with it were deep and enduring, the figure of Ivan Bunin occupies a very significant place. Bunin's Oriental poetry is an extremely peculiar phenomenon in the literary kaleidoscope of the first quarter of the XX century, when the problem of "West-East" took possession of the minds of many philosophers, historians and writers of Russia. This study of Bunin should be noted not only because he wrote a lot and fruitfully about the East, often demonstrating not in fruitless polemics, but in the artistic practice itself, the idea of Pushkin's Western-Eastern synthesis. Russian Russian poet Bunin's poetry embodies a deep and original concept of the interaction of the Russian artist with the reality and culture of the East-a concept that has absorbed the democratic traditions of Russian poetic orientalism.
