Abstract

The whole human centuries with its advanced destructive ramifications of dehumanization, delusion, despair, dissatisfaction and pessimism has brought the human concerns into the nihilistic level. Hence, the world is desperately in need of instructive restoration in the progress of postmodernistic novel genre. A similar concern has found its profound straightforward roots in Julian Barnes’s works. Thus, this article is aimed to present the place of Julian Barnes’ ingenuity in the genre evolution of the English postmodern novel and to come out with numerous suggestions by analysing his several novels such as “Metroland”, “Flaubert's Parrot”, “A History of the World in 10 ½ Chapters”, and “The Sense of an Ending”.
