This article is devoted to the interpretation of the tradition of takhmis creativity in Uzbek classical and modern literature on the example of the works of Alisher Navoi. It contains a comprehensive analysis of the first “private takhmis” of the poet and scientific conclusions about the poetics of takhmis, which is one of the classic literary genres based on the theoretical foundations of takhmis creativity. In particular, the literary artistic and visual means used in the poet’s takhmis, written in a gazelle with the “okibat” radif, the features of the poetic size, as well as the rhyming system, are widely studied. The article reveals the formal and semantic compatibility of the verses of the takhmis with the verses of the gazelle, the poet's findings in expanding the form and content of the main gazelle, further deepening the ideas expressed in it.
