ANALYSIS OF MODE OF LIFE IN THE LITERATURE OF EMIL ZОLYA

Abstract

At the end of the XIX century Cuba was fighting for its freedom, in 1910 the revolution began in Mexico, in 1911 – in China. Literary struggle escalates. Life puts forward new challenges for the writer. Literary struggle escalates. Perhaps, in any era did not develop at the same time as many different directions in the literature, as in the end of XIX and in the XX century the Theory of naturalism was given in works of Zola. Emil Zola attached great importance to the description of the environment, professional work, things surrounding people. With almost scientific, professional accuracy he recreates in his novels. The logical result of the" era of madness and shame " was the defeat of France, the shameful capitulation during the Franco-Prussian war. The novel "Defeat" is dedicated not so much to the defeat of the army as to the defeat of the regime. The helplessness and confusion of the government, the mediocrity of command, cowardice and venality of the bourgeoisie Zola contrasts the patriotism of the people, the courage of soldiers and officers.
