THE THEORETICAL-HISTORICAL AND WORLDVIEW FOUNDATIONS OF OLD RUSSIAN LITERATURE

Abstract

This article provides a general overview of the formation of Old Russian literature, as well as the most significant historical and social processes that took place in Rus. It examines historicism, religiosity, and the distinctive features of female images in ancient literary monuments. The ideal of female fidelity is emphasized as a bearer of the highest moral values of the era, including self-sacrifice, spiritual beauty, and devotion. The study highlights the importance of these texts as a valuable source for understanding the historical consciousness and spiritual culture of Ancient Rus. Special attention is paid to the genre originality of the works and their influence on the further development of national culture and the formation of the spiritual tradition of Old Russian society.
