LEXICAL-SEMANTIC AND LINGUOCULTURAL ANALYSIS OF THE GENDER CONCEPT “MASCULINITY” IN THE ITALIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

This study is devoted to the lexical-semantic and linguocultural analysis of the gender concept of “masculinity” in the Italian language. The research examines how the concept of masculinity is represented in the linguistic system and analyzes its semantic structure and cultural content. The study focuses on the semantic field of lexical units such as mascolinità, uomo, maschio, virile, and virilità, their interrelations, and their usage in different communicative contexts. Particular attention is also paid to social stereotypes, cultural values, and discursive models that influence the formation of the concept of masculinity in Italian linguoculture. The research employs linguocultural, semantic, and comparative methods of analysis. The obtained results help to reveal the interrelation between language and culture in the formation of gender concepts and contribute to the further development of gender linguistics.
