Abstract

This article describes the differences between language, speech and language phenomena, their interdependence, their place in linguistics, and their study in Uzbek and world linguistics. Linguistic units, their linguistic description, opinions and comments of various scientists about linguistic units are also included in the article. The terms phoneme, morpheme, pattern included in the linguistic units have been widely researched. The term linguistic units and the units it includes are still considered a controversial issue in linguistics, and this article is devoted to a broader study of these units.
