METAPHORICAL COGNITIVE MODEL OF THE FORMATION OF FIGURATIVE MEANINGS

This article investigates the determination of linguocognitive, national-cultural factors that effect to the nomination of flora and specific features of its derivation by using cognitive mechanisms in English and Uzbek languages. It looks through the necessity to fulfill research on the secondary interpretation in the nomination of flora in English and Uzbek languages. The study aims studying cognitive and cultural factors of phytonyms in English and Uzbek languages in accordance with cognitive approaches in acknowledging lexical units as special subsystem of linguistics for language development by the integration of linguistic and non-linguistic factors.
The practical importance of research results can be used in the course of lexicology, typology, cultural linguistics, cognitive linguistics and in teaching theoretical linguistics for the philologists. Besides that, the material can be used as a supplementary material for students to do researches in the field of language.
