THE PRINCIPLE OF POLITENESS IN SPEECH ADAPTATION

This article shows the attitude of the speaker to the listener in the implementation of politeness strategy in English and Uzbek languages. Also, issues such as the fact that the theory of politeness is mainly focused on the analysis of the process of direct oral communication, and that one of the important reasons why speakers seek to indirectly express the pragmatic goal in speech communication is to follow the rules of politeness.
