This article aims to identify the feasibility of studying the role of idioms in expressing aspectual meanings in English and Uzbek languages in the categories of continuity, iterativeness, etc. The main goal of this article is that the lexical-semantic means that form aspectual semantics depend not on the lexical meaning of the verb, but on the functional use of temporal expressions. In both languages, the dependence of aspectual semantics on temporal relations and other contextual means, in addition to the semantics of the verb, has been studied.
