PECULIAR FEATURES OF IDENTIFYING THE CAUSATIVE AGENTS OF BACTERIAL CONJUNCTIVITIS

The main difference in the prevalence of etiological agents of acute bacterial conjunctivitis between children and adults was observed in the higher detection rates of Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Escherichia coli in adults compared to children. The majority of the pathogens were identified as typical strains corresponding to their respective taxonomic groups. Based on the results of microbiological examinations conducted during the study, algorithms for the microbiological and mycological analysis of acute bacterial conjunctivitis were developed.
