Diffuse purulent peritonitis remains one of the most urgent and complex problems in abdominal surgery in the 21st century. The objective of this scientific study is to improve treatment outcomes for patients with diffuse purulent peritonitis and reduce disease-related complications by enhancing abdominal (peritoneal) and intestinal (enteral) sanitation. Materials and Methods. The examination and treatment results of 106 patients with diffuse purulent peritonitis of various etiologies were analyzed. Patients were divided into two groups based on the treatment method used. Group I, the comparison group, consisted of patients who received traditional treatment methods. The second, the main group, was comprised of patients who underwent peritoneal and enteral sanitation according to our developed method. Results. While traditional treatment for acute diffuse purulent peritonitis can resolve the clinical course of the disease by days 8-9 of treatment, the use of peritoneal and enteral sanitation with an electrochemically activated aqueous solution-A (ECAAS-A) as part of a comprehensive treatment regimen achieved resolution by days 6-7. Concurrently, the time required to clear the abdominal cavity of infection, normalize the body's intoxication indicators, and restore intestinal motility was significantly reduced by an average of 2-3 days. The average length of hospital stay decreased by 3-4 days. Conclusion. The use of peritoneal and enteral lavage with the ECAAS-A solution was evaluated for its effectiveness in reducing disease complications and mortality rates in patients, as well as achieving economic efficiency by shortening hospital stays. This study was recognized as an improved treatment method for diffuse purulent peritonitis.
