MORPHOLOGICAL CHANGES IN NECROTIZING ENTEROCOLITIS (NEC)

Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a severe gastrointestinal disease that primarily affects premature infants. It is characterized by inflammation, ischemia, and necrosis of the intestinal wall. This article examines the morphological and functional changes in the intestine during NEC, along with their pathophysiological mechanisms and clinical consequences. The findings highlight the importance of early detection of morphofunctional signs for effective diagnosis and treatment of NEC.
