EPIDEMIOLOGY OF CHRONIC OCCUPATIONAL ALLERGIC RHINITIS IN FIBERGLASS WORKERS FIBERGLASS INDUSTRY

An epidemiological study of workers at the plant “Stekloplastik” Ltd. was conducted to identify the presence of chronic allergic rhinitis by questionnaire survey. The survey revealed various factors influencing the development of chronic allergic rhinitis. Thus, in men allergic rhinitis was detected in 10.3% of cases, which is 1.6 times lower than in women (16.2%, P<0.05). Allergic rhinitis is more often observed in young and middle-aged people, and most often (20.1%) in the age group of 40-49 years. Expert evaluation allowed to establish that of all identified patients with allergic rhinitis, 24.4% need treatment and observation by allergists, and 75.6% need treatment by otolaryngologists with periodic consultations of allergists.
