Abstract

ABSTRACT

 The given article deals with cognitive–stylistic  functions of stylistic device –antithesis on the material of  novel “The Moon and Sixpence” by Maugham  W.S. It  analyzes  the cognitive feature  of stylistics and the polyfunctionality of the literary text of the novel, manifested in a variety of stylistic, communicative–pragmatic , cognitive and socio–cultural functions.
